Our tubes as a premium solution in the packaging sector

2012 – Tube of the Year „EverPure“

The EverPure haircare range based on natural ingredients, which has been successfully marketed in the USA for the last few years, is now available in European stores. The glossy tube surface thanks to the aluminium layer of ABL laminate was clearly impressive. The particular challenge was also the number of colors used, which were implemented by the flexographic printing processes. The hologram effect with the decorative stripes on the tube was achieved by cold foil pressing and underlines the premium character of the product. A further demand from the customers was the printed side seam, which was implemented in an impressive way. This prize is a huge reward and in particular has shown the new trend - it is clear we should use ABL laminate for cosmetic products.

2013 – Tube of the Year „EverRiche“

The ETMA (European Tube Manufacturers Association) jury awarded the expansion of the EverPure tube range, the "EverRiche" tube, the "Tube of the Year 2013" award in the laminated tube category. We were proud to have defended our 2012 title. It was a long road until the project came to a successful end. In particular, it was rather difficult to achieve L'Oréal's exact specifications for a gold-bronze background color. The quality of the finish and the printed seam impressed once again. We will of course make use of this success again in order to highlight our competence in tube finishing to our customer base.

2014 – Tube of the Year "AXE PEACE“

For the 3rd time in a row we have won the "Tube of the Year" award in the laminated tubes category. This year the AXE PEACE tube from Unilever came first out of the European tube manufacturers. AXE PEACE is a further example of the successful implementation of our strategy to place laminated tubes in highly-finished form for brand manufacturers. The transparent window together with an otherwise opaque color covering with an Inviseam seam poses, alongside the high finishing grade, a particular challenge for the manufacturing of the tube in the form of flexographic and screen printing as well as metallic colors. Likewise, thanks to our technical on-site support we can help customers during filling to seal the tubes so that the ink at the end of the tube is not spoiled and the tube can be properly sealed.

2015 – Most family-friendly company in Dresden

We received the 5th Dresden innovation prize "Most family-friendly company in Dresden" (Familienfreundlichsten Unternehmen Dresdens) in 2015. The prize sculpture was presented on Thursday 3 December to managing director Matthias Lütkemeier in the presence of employees by Dr. Kristen Klaudia Kaufmann, mayor for work, health, social affairs and housing. ESSEL bases family-friendliness not only on a specific measure. On the contrary, we pursue a global approach that enables our employees to find a balance between work and family. The prize sculpture "I know it" is made of bronze, is around 60 centimetres high, and weighs 8 kg. It is of a school girl raising her index finger. The sculptor behind it is Magorzata Chodakowska.

2020 – TUBE OF THE YEAR "SuperCoco und SuperGreen"

With the current award, EPL Europe is now among the finalists for the fourth time. The etma award in the 'Sustainability' category went to the fully recyclable SuperCoco and SuperGreen tubes from happybrush®. The laminate used for this is a development of EPL Ltd. and thus also a result of the company's 'Go Green' initiative. The award-winning products are 35 mm in diameter and are among the first commercial laminate tubes made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics. The production of these tubes is very demanding and highly complex, as PCR tubes have to meet all the necessary barrier properties throughout their life cycle and return to their original shape after each use.



We faced an internationally recognized jury, who had to make their decision from among 440 entries from 37 countries. The coveted award has been presented since 1970 and honors numerous packaging products from all over the world.
We are pleased to announce that EPL has won the 'WorldStar Global Packaging Awards 2022' in the category 'Health and Personal Care'. Unchanged application properties using PCR in combination with material reduction brought success for EPL in Europe. We succeeded in balancing customer requirements, sustainability and market dynamics with this product. The WorldStar award is a clear confirmation of our strategy and values.
